Crocheted Cords

These two types of crocheted cords can be used for almost anything. I like to use them for bracelets, or necklaces. You can crochet charms to hang from them, or use a store bought charm.
The materials you will need for these are just a clasp, size 10 crochet cotton in the color of your choice, and a size 6 or 7 steel hook.
For the cord on the outside in this picture:
attach first half of clasp, ch 5, join with sl st to form a ring, 5 sc in ring DO NOT JOIN, 1 sc in each sc around until desired length is reached, (skip 1 sc, sc in next sc) twice, attach 2nd half of clasp, break thread, weave in ends.
For the cord in the center:
attach first half of clasp, ch 2, sc in first ch, TURN, sc in the top of last sc, TURN, work sc in the two threads on the side,**turn, sc in the two threads on the side** repeat to desired length, attach 2nd half of clasp, break thread, weave in ends.

Rose Choker

I made this choker using the same pattern as my floral bracelet for the vines and rosebuds... the large rose in the middle is from my rose magnet pattern. I made the base a little wider than the bracelet (7 dc across instead of 5), and added a (sc, ch 3, sc) edging along both sides for a bit of a lacy detail. It pairs nicely with the floral bracelet. Check out the archives for instructions on how to make the bracelet and magnet.

I did not starch this one, but you certainly can if you'd like yours a little more firm.

Me

I like to begin every day with quiet time spent in prayer, and Bible reading.
